How to Start with BridgeNL

The BridgeNL platform is an online platform of the ©Bridge Model, managed by VANL (Voluntary Action North Lanarkshire) to encourage community engagement and enable the sharing of information in North Lanarkshire. It’s organised into clear categories to help you find and contribute to discussions that matter to you.

There are two main areas: Local News and Updates and Community Development.

  • Local News and Updates is where we share important announcements, local events, and information directly affecting North Lanarkshire communities.
  • Community Development is then divided into subcategories to make it easier to have focused conversations:
    • Community Boards: A space for discussions relating to partner updates and local community boards and their activities.
    • Community Councils: Dedicated to local issues and conversations about the work of our local Community Councils.
    • LOIPs (Local Outcome Improvement Plans): Where we discuss and share information about various subgroups, local priorities and our local plans for improving community outcomes.
    • Project Ideas: A place for CVS organisations, partners, stakeholders and residents to suggest and discuss ideas for local community projects.
    • Community Feedback: A dedicated area for residents to share their thoughts and provide feedback on local issues and initiatives using polls and posts.

To ensure a safe and useful online space, only Local News and Updates are accessible to visitors. Only logged-in users can publish content (posters, updates, news) in categories where they have permission, which helps to keep updates and discussions focused and relevant. This ensures a secure and structured environment for meaningful discussions, co-production, and collaboration and prevents unwanted content.
